RCARO Staff Seminar Held Successfully

The Seminar on the RCARO’s Future Activities for its Sustainable Development was held on 1-5 December 2008 in Daejeon and Jeju, the Republic of Korea, with the participation of the RCARO staff members and temporary staff members invited from the RCA Member States. The Seminar was also attended by some invitees in Korea including Mr Kyung-Joon Noh from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Korea, Dr. Poong-Eil Juhn (former IAEA Director of Nuclear Power Division); Prof. Bum-Jin Chung (Department of Nuclear and Energy Engineering of Jeju National University); and Mr. Se-Joon Yoon (Director of Korean Nuclear International Cooperation Foundation). The agenda of the Seminar included among others, presentations on the RCARO experiences and associated work in their countries by the past temporary staff, brainstorming on how to enhance the operation of the RCARO and suggestions for a sustainable development in a medium and long term. A number of interesting discussions and recommendations were made at the Seminar for the RCARO’s sustainable development, which are to be available in more detail in the RCARO Corner of this web site. Among others, the temp staff concurred with the need to set up a bulletin board in the RCARO website as a forum for an exchange of information and opinions inside the RCA community.
