RCARP01 and 02 Achievement Report (Full and Short) are now availableA full and short version of the Achievement Report of the RCA Research Project on Air Quality and Environment Impact Assessment of Industrial Activities in the Asian Region (RCARP01 & 02) are now available on the RCA Website: https://rcaro.org/others The Achievement Report provides a summary of the outcomes and outcomes achieved through the RCARP01 & 02, where Phase 1 was conducted from 2018 to 2022 and Phase 2 was conducted in 2021 to 2023. The RCARP01 & 02 project focused on monitoring and assessing the impact of air pollution on the environment and on public health. By utilizing nuclear analytical techniques, the project evaluated the levels of airborne particulate matter and its effects on surrounding ecosystems, such as soil, water, and crops. The data generated helped identify pollution sources, assess health risks, and support policy decisions aimed at improving air quality and the surrounding environment in the Asia-Pacific region.

RCARO Hosts Promotional Booth at 2024 KNS Fall Conference in ChangwonThe 2024 KNS (Korean Nuclear Society) Fall Conference is taking place from 23 to 25 October 2024 at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center (CECO) in Changwon, Korea. The RCA Regional Office is participating with a promotional booth, aiming to raise awareness of RCA's mission and highlight key achievements to stakeholders from various nuclear-related institutions. The conference also presents an opportunity to establish new partnerships within the nuclear community. By engaging with attendees from industry and academia, the RCARO seeks to strengthen cooperation and expand outreach efforts within the nuclear sector, enhancing its visibility among key players.

RCARP03: Publication of Another Paper on Lancet JournalRCARO has been implementing the RCA Research Project on Closing the Gap in Radiotherapy Access in RCA Government Parties (RCARP03) since 2022. The project aims to to measure the gap in radiotherapy services in the region and to estimate the potential economic and life loss upon failure to close the gap. Using the data produced under the project, Philippines research team have successfuly published a paper "Radiotherapy services in the Philippines: exploring geographical barriers to improve access to care" in the Lancet Western Pacific journal. This requires developing additional RT centers, expanding training programs, and improving referral systems. Collaboration between the government, private sector, and civil society is essential to overcome geographical challenges. This study underscores the need for significant investments in RT facilities, medical personnel training, and policy development to support equitable distribution of services across the country. The data presented in this study highlight the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to enhance the availability and accessibility of RT services. Addressing these challenges will require a multi-faceted approach, involving investment in infrastructure, human resources, and technological advancements. This paper provides important insights into the challenges of delivering RT in the Philippines and other developing countries, emphasizing the need for increased investment and policy support. By addressing these issues, the Philippines can make significant strides towards achieving equitable access to cancer care and improving the overall health and well-being of its population.
