The RCA Regional Office participated in the 12th Annual Meeting of the ASEAN Network of Regulatory Bodies on Atomic Energy (ASEANTOM), held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, from 11 to 15 August 2025. The meeting served as a key platform for cooperation among ASEAN nuclear regulatory authorities and international partners, focusing on the themes of nuclear safety, security, safeguards, and the peaceful applications of nuclear technology.

RCARO contributed as a dialogue partner and delivered a presentation on the progress of the partnership project “Enhancing Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities in the ASEAN Region through Building Technical Capacity in Radiation Monitoring and Dose Assessment.”

The project, launched in 2020 with participation from all 10 ASEAN countries, has already produced regional guidelines, manuals, handbooks, and training programs that have benefited over 200 experts. RCARO presented on the project structure and highlighted recent achievements, including the 2025 Regional Training Course in Korea, where ASEAN experts conducted field-based radiation monitoring and laboratory exercises.
