Dr. Dae Ki Kim, Director of the RCA Regional Office, attended the 50th Anniversary Ceremony of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) at the invitation of VINATOM. The ceremony was held on 7 July 2026 at the Meliá Hanoi Hotel in Hanoi, Viet Nam, bringing together distinguished guests, including H.E. Ho Quoc Dung, Deputy Prime Minister of Viet Nam, H.E. Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General of the IAEA, and representatives of international partners. Director Kim delivered congratulatory remarks as one of the international guest speakers.
In his remarks, Director Kim congratulated VINATOM on its 50th anniversary and expressed appreciation for its longstanding contributions to the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology in Viet Nam. He highlighted VINATOM’s important role in supporting national development through nuclear applications in medicine, agriculture, industry, water resources, environmental protection, safety, and human resource development.
Director Kim also stated that it was a great honour to be invited to celebrate this meaningful milestone. He thanked VINATOM for its valuable contribution to RCA cooperation and expressed his expectation that VINATOM will continue to make significant contributions to the further development of the RCA and regional nuclear cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
