    Rather than rely solely upon pupillary occlusion or tracking of eye movement to protect the fundus from accidental exposure to electromagnetic radiation, the present invention also utilizes an electromagnetic radiation pathway with a profile such that the energy density at the iris is greater than the energy density at the posterior portion of the eye. This disparity in energy density allows for efficacy at the anterior iris treatment site, without injury to the fundus.

    Employing undulator devices as x-ray radiation sources requires expensive and bulky support systems for operation, which are not robust and lead to limited ranges of generated radiation energies. A force-compensated undulator device is described. The device includes an undulator having first and second magnet arrays disposed along a central axis. The first magnet array is translatable along the central axis. The device further includes a compensator unit disposed adjacent to the first magnet array with the compensator unit having a first row of magnets disposed along a compensator axis with the compensator axis being parallel to the central axis, and a second row of magnets disposed along the compensator axis. The first row of magnets is translatable along the compensator axis. The compensator provides magnetic forces that neutralize the system dynamic magnetic forces generated by the undulator.

The application also relates to the use of such a device and to a method for producing three-dimensional workpieces by means of such a device.

The UV transparent sleeve is engaged with the sleeve interface such that the radial sealing element of the sealed sleeve interface is disposed between the UV transparent sleeve and the outer collar of the source base, and the compression ring is positioned over the UV transparent sleeve and engaged with the source base to compress the radial sealing element onto the UV transparent sleeve and the outer collar. The UV lamp is disposed within the UV transparent sleeve and electrically coupled to the electrical contacts of the electrical connection interface.
